Kite Repair

Unfortunatly due to high work loads we are unable to take in any kite repairs at this time

Concept sails has a specialist traction kite and water relaunchible kite repair and service workshop situated just a half mile from Poole harbor one of the UK’s most popular kite hot spots. It is a kite loft owned and run by kite surfers who understand the importance of the intricate design features on all the differing styles and disciplines of the sport.

We have taken the time and expense to select machinery that is the same as that used in far east kite factories, we even use UV treated threads.- no ebay special sewing machines and have a go heroes here! We have had several repairs brought to us which have 'blown out' or caused the kite to fly incorrectly as a result of the repairer having poor knowledge of build qualities and use of inappropriate materials and sewing techniques. The use of resin and glue based DIY repairs can result in the kite flying unbalanced and also makes it more difficult to repair professionally. We recommend only using self adhesive kite repair tape for a diy repair and this should only be a temporary solution.

We will guarantee our repairs for as long as you own the kite

We have a huge stock of laminates, rip stop, spinnaker cloths and dacrons many of which have been supplied directly from the kite manufacturers to make it possible for exact colour matches and near invisible repairs. Our technical expertise and love for kite sports coupled with top grade machinery and materials means we can deliver a fast professional service.

As we sail ourselves we appreciate the panic of a windy forecast. Concept sails offers a super fast turn around anyway but if you are in a real panic a 24 hour service is avalible.

Bladders - We are able to source a vast range of bladders but they can take between 3 days and 3 weeks to arrive so bear this in mind if you are in a hurry. Our bladders come from an independant factory so will not be made by your kite manufacturer but are extreemly good quality (in some cases better quality) For a bladder quote send us a email with make, model, year, and size of youe kite.  If you are not confident fitting a bladder, we can do it for you at a cost of £30 (£40 if its a Naish octopus system) or £10 for a strut.  We can also repair popped bladders in many cases for £30 using an impluse sealer to create a weld however unlike all the other work we do, we cannot guarantee these fixes.

The Loft also shares a building with one of the British Kite Surfing Association offices and Easy Riders – one of the UK’s premier kite surf training and North Pro centre. The staff at Easy Riders really do know everything there is to know about setting up a kite and teach skills for first timers right up to training instructors. H20 Sports – one of the UK's leading watersports shops occupies the lower floor of the building so between the four of us we can sort out any kite issue you may have from a shell cut in your canopy to a BKSA instructor training course.

Kite Lines - We do not repair or re-sleve kite lines as our insurance will not cover us to do so. In our opinion, if the insurers dont think its a good idea neither should you, we strongly suggest replacing rather than repairing in this instance.  We can however re attach pigtails or bridal attachments without any worries.
